Online Poker
Poker rake is the operating fee, deducted directly from each pot, that the casino or card room collects from players. It is often stated as a percentage of each pot, while in online poker it covers the various costs of operation such as support, software, and personnel.

Who wins the pot
When a hand reaches the showdown, the player with the highest-ranked hand wins the pot. That's true of Texas hold'em, pot-limit Omaha, seven-card stud, and five-card draw. Texas Hold'em is the most common in both online and offline poker rooms.
Rake and dealt hand odds
The rake in live games is generally higher than for online poker. At the tables, rake in most games is 2.5% to 10% of the pot, up to a set maximum. The rake for participation in poker tournaments is collected as an entrance fee.
The odds for poker depend on the type of game, but as a general sense of it: 49.9% chance of a dealt five-card hand of one pair or better, 0.1965% of a dealt flush, and 0.1441% of a dealt full house.
Rake online and poker bonuses
When playing online, the rake is taken automatically by the game software. Many online poker sites offer incentives to players, especially new depositors, in the form of bonuses. Usually, the bonuses are paid out incrementally as certain amounts are raked by the player. Some online cardrooms charge a monthly subscription fee and then do not rake individual pots or tournaments. Some sites are only completely rake-free for frequent players, while offering reduced rake instead for other customers.
